Artistic Leadership
Shallom Matthew
Founder & Artistic Director
Shallom Matthew established The City Choir in August 2023, gathering singers in Lagos into a community dedicated to learning through performance.
As artistic director he leads rehearsals and performances, develops the ensemble's arrangements and composes original repertoire, including Messiah Oloruko Nla and For Unto Us a Child Is Born.
His philosophy is collaborative rather than competitive: a choir where experienced and emerging musicians grow side by side.
